John Henry Price was deeded a part of the original Tom's Creek land and built a mill on it. After the mill was burned by indians, he sold his land to Christian Smith and moved, in 1804, to Cincinnati, OH where he settled on Price Hill. It was probably this Henry for whom Price's Creek of Preble County, OH was named. It was originally named Cook's Fork, but was renamed for Henry Price who settled near it in Harrison township and who built the 2nd grist and sawmill in the township and the first to be constructed on Price's creek. It is located in section 5, approximately 1-1/2 miles above the Eaton and Lewisburg Road. (1798 History of Preble County, OH) John Henry's brother Christian folowed him to Ohio and later settled for a while in Lewisburg. From there he moved to Elkhart, IN.
