Payton, Henry - born 1/19/1760 in Culpeper County, Virginia; entered service 1777 in Amherst County, Virginia, where he resided, in Virginia regiment; granted Pension 1833 in Cabell County, Virginia; affidavit there then by Clergyman Stephen Spurlock & Elisha McComas, per County Court Clerk John Samuels; soldier's name dropped from Pension rolls in 1835 when Pension Office determined claim to be fradulent. F-S8943, R1893.
