Re: History of York County" Powell Land Transfer: Henry Parsons to Daniel Jones, 172 acres, 10/12/1787, Manahan Twp. York County, Pa. Witnesses were Vincent Parsons and Miriam Parsons. Re: Record in York Courthouse, York, Pa. NOTE made by John F. Burton while he was doing research on the Parsons: It is very possible, if not probable, that Henry had other children besides Vincent but no records have been uncovered. There were other Parsons in York County during the period that Henry was living. there were also Parsons in Lancaster during the 1700's and Parsons in Centre County during the early 1800's. With the scattering or Parsons in Pennsylvania during that period it seems unrealistic to believe that Henry was not related to some of the others. NOTE by Claude R. Burton: Acquired a copy of Henry Parsons's will dated August 11, 1811 and probated Jan 6, 1816. He gave 300 acres known as the Big Spring to his son Vincent, out of which he must pay unto Elizabeth Hathaway, Henry's granddaughter the sum of thirty-three dollars and thirty-three cents. Vincent also to pay Joshua Parsons, Elizabeth Allen, and Benjamin Parsons one dollar each. Vincent Parsons his son was executor. It is quite probable that Joshua, Elizabeth, and Benjamin were Henry's children. the will was witnessed by Jacob Hathaway, David P. Hathaway and Daniel Babbit. Also, the will was probated in Washington Co., Pa. and registered in Will book #3, pp79-80.
