    Henry Humphrey and Frances, together with their ten children, all their household belongings, personal clothes and some silver 'treasures' from Comphurst Farmhouse, embarked on the ship Waimea at Gravesend dock London on 1st July 1876. The Family had reported to the 'emigrants depot' three days before, where they stayed until the ship was ready to leave. On 2nd July they sailed for New Zealand and a new life.
