Henry Thomas Cooper, Former Floyd Man, Is Victim In Ohio.
Henry Thomas Cooper, 80, of Sunbury, Ohio, formerly of Drift and Banner, succumbed Friday at Sunbury to an illness of four years. A retired miner, he came to Floyd county in 1919 and was employed by the Old Beaver Coal Co. at Drift. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Cooper was a son of the late Francis Cooper, and was twice married - first to Emma Hogan, and following her death, to Artie Moore, who survives. Surviving, besides his widow, are eight sons: Willard, Arnold and Jessie Cooper, all of Lima, Ohio, Glenn Cooper, Manton, Frank, Roy, Kelly and Truman Cooper, all of Sunbury ; one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Conley, Gelana, Ohio ; two step-sons, Oscar Milburn, Centerburg, Ohio, and Ernest Milburn, Gelana, Ohio ; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lucy Artrip, of Drift ; three brothers, Arthur, Joe and Harry Cooper, and two sisters, all of Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the home of Lucy Artrip, ministers of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made in the Drift cemetery, under the direction of Hall Brothers Funeral Home.
