PIONEER RESIDENT OF KIRKLAND DIES Rites for Henry Aves of Kirkland Took Place Sunday Afternoon At Methodist Church; Died On Friday At His Home July 8, 1941

At two o'clock on Friday afternoon occurred the death of one of Kirkland's pioneer residents, Henry Aves, at his farm home two miles northwest of Kirkland. Mr. Aves had lived in Kirkland the major part of his life, being one of the prominent farmers of that community.

Henry Aves was born in Germany on November 30, 1866. He came with his parents, Frederich and Hannah Aves, to the United States when he was three years of age. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Euhus November 1, 1893. Mr. Aves was a member of the Kirkland Methodist church. He had been ill for two weeks previous to his death.

The decedent is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Grace Harms of Esmond, one son Floyd of Kirkland and one sister, Mrs. Augusta Watson of Detroit, also nine grandchildren.

Final rites were accorded Mr. Aves on Sunday afternoon from the Kirkland Methodist church, the Rev. H. S. Lawler conducting the service. Interment was in Charter Oak Cemetery north of Kirkland.
