Obituary

Mrs. Harm Laug, Sr., died at her home one-half mile west of the Coopersville Reformed church, Saturday morning November 9, 1912.
Hannah Koop was born in Hanover, Germany, July 20, 1837. She entered holy wedlock with Harm Laug in Germany in 1857. They came to America in September, 1864, and settled in Piqua, Ohio. After living there three years they came to Coopersville, Mich., and have lived at the old homestead for the last forty-five years.
Mr. and Mrs. Laug came to Michigan in company with the families of Henry Lubben and Henry Busman. Jointly they purchased the 160 acres south and west of the Reformed Church, which at that time was wooded land. They also bought forty acres, now owned by Albert Busmap, which was cleared and could be cultivated.
Mrs. Laug had seen the great change in this community, where the forest formerly occupied the soil. She had reached a ripe old age, served her Lord earnestly and sincerely, and died in the consciousness that her hope of eternal glory was well-grounded.
Her husband, four sons, Harm, Geert, John and George Laug, of Coopersville, and four daughters, Mrs. Leroy and Mrs. Duiven of Grand Rapids, Mrs. H. Laug, Jr., and Mr. J. Wiarda, of Coopersville.
Funeral was held from the Reformed church Monday, November 11. Interment in Coopersville cemetery
