Descendant of Sergt. Joshua Williams, of Stonington, Conn. Daughter of John Corwin and Harriet Finch, his wife. Granddaughter of Henry Finch and Harriet Williams, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of Joshua Williams and Hannah Hurlbut, his wife.
Joshua Williams turned out at the Lexington Alarm and fought under Capt. John Durkee at Bunker Hill. He was made corporal in 1777, when he enlisted for the war. He served in the Eighth Regiment of militia, Capt. William Stan- ton's company of Coast Guards.
