Mrs. Helen Vodde – Mrs. Helen Vodde, 86, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at her residence, R. R. 2, New Haven. Although she was born in New York State, she lived in New Haven almost 70 years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in New Haven, the St. Mary’s Altar Society, the Rosary Society and the Sacred Heart League of the church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bernadine Ehinger of New Haven, Miss Norberta Vodde at home, and Sister Gerald. A member of the Sisters of St. Agnes, Fond du Lac, Wis., three sons, Leo of New Haven, Albert and Clement, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Leo, and William Snyder, both of New Haven; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband and five children have preceded her in death. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. at the residence and at 9 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, the Rev. William J Ehrman officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. The St. Mary’s Order Sodality will meet at the residence at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The Fort Wayne Journal- Gazette, Jan. 2, 1951 page 8 References
