Wisconsin State-Journal, 7/28/2007 Lawson, Helen F. MOUNT HOREB - Helen F. Lawson, age 88, passed away at the Ingleside Nursing Home Friday, July, 27, 2007. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on May 19, 1919, to William and Fairy Tullis. Helen was united in marriage to Norman Frost April 23, 1936. She worked as a nurse for many years in Ottumwa. She moved to Mount Horeb in 1963. On Aug. 31, 1963, she married Melvin T. Lawson and they operated the General Silica Sand Company until their retirement in 1981. They returned to Ottumwa for several years until Helen moved back to Mount Horeb to be with her family. She is survived by her children, Larry (Lillian) Frost of Verona and Janice Victory of Sebastopol, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard; sister, Rosemary; and husband, Melvin. A private service will be held at a later date per Helen?s wishes. The Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, is serving the family. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the nurses and staff at Ingleside Nursing Home for the wonderful care Helen received and a special thank you to son, Larry and granddaughter, Debbie. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association.
