Helen B. (Poissant) Rose of Northgate Rd.,No. Smithfield, died Monday, November 20, 2006 at home. She was the wife of the late James T. Rose, Sr. Born March 27, 1933 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Imelda (Grenon) Poissant.

She worked 23 years for the former Amperex, now Philips Corp., No. Smithfield retiring in 1995. She had previously worked at the Village Haven, Forestdale. Mrs. Rose was a past officer of the Navy Wives’ Club in Illinois & Virginia. She had been a Girl Scout leader. Besides being a Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, she also served as a lector, and a former officer and member of its Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the North Smithfield Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a son; SFC James T. Rose Jr., RI National Guard of No. Smithfield, three daughters, Karen Rose of Orlando, FL, Catherine Narodowy and Patricia Mowry both of No Smithfield, a brother; Joseph Poissant, Sr. of Woonsocket, a sister; Alice Brown of Burrillville. She is also the grandmother of Travis, Michael, Brian and James T. Rose III, Laura, Abbey and Ellyn Narodowy, Thomas and Jacob Mowry, Danielle Dube and the late Sgt James C. Dube. She was the sister of the late Maurice Poissant.

A Mass of Christian will be held Saturday November 25, 2006 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St, Slatersville. Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4PM and 7 to 9PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
