BURLINGTON: Mrs Helen Joyce Newnam Shoffner, 74, of 4218 Kimesville Road died Friday, June 14, 1996 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Memorial service will be 11 am Monday at St Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev Joyce Taipale, Pastor, St Pauls officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Greensboro, she was the daughter of the elate Rufus Hunter Newnam and the late Katherine Jane Jordan Newnam and wife of the late Robert L Shoffner. She was a former secretary for Nationwide Insurance Company and a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors are daughters Ms Katherine J Shoffner of Boone, Mrs Lyndall S Reynolds of Graham; sons, Rev Robert H Shoffner of Hickory, Mr Kenneth W Shoffner of Burlington, Mr Alan D Shoffner of maiden; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Daisy N Morgan, Lillie N Newnam, Lelia P Newnam; brothers John H Newnam, Charlie T Newnam, James L Newnam, Fred L Newnam, and Roy L Newnam.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington tonight from 6-8 pm and other times they will be at the residence.
