Helen Hirzel Haas, age 88, formerly of Lindsey, OH, went home to be with the Lord, July 28, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 8, 1917, in Buffalo, NY, to Carl R. and Lena (Schneider) Hirzel, she was a life member of the American Swiss Society, a devoted homemaker, a tax preparer/consultant, the director of Cerebral Palsy Assoc. for Sandusky CO, and an active member of First United Church of Christ in Fremont. She is survived by her children, Catherine (Michael) Kauffman of Wooster, Sharon (Phillip) Chatwood of Greenville, OH, Susan (William) Mills of Vermilion, OH, Glen (Karen) Haas of Plano, Texas, and James (Dottie) Haas of Howe, Indiana; a brother, Dr. Rudolph (Myra) Hirzel of Climax, Michigan; 16 grand-children; 7 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Elsie Hirzel; a sister, Catherine Stucky, and brother, Karl Hirzel. Memorial services will be Sunday, July 31, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, Fremont, OH, with interment on Monday, August 1, at Lake Twp. Cemetery, Wood CO, OH. Contributions may be made to any Hospice of the donor's choice or First United Church of Christ, 1500 Tiffin Rd., Fremont, OH 43420. |
