In 1832 he immigrated to the USA (1900 census). Heinrich was buried in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wright Township, Ottawa County, Michigan, USA. Alias: Henry HOST.
1910 Census: Listed as (age 94, born in Germany) and living in the household of son Joseph Host and his family. [5]
1900 Census: Listed as (age 85, born in Germany) and living in the household of son Joseph Host and his family. [2]
1880 Census: Listed as (age 64, born in Germany) and living with his wife Mary (age 64, born in Germany) and their son Joseph (age 25, born in MI) and living in Wright Township, Ottawa Co, Michigan. [6]
1870 Census: Listed as (Henry, age 54, born in Bavaria) and living with his wife Mary (age 55, born in Bavaria) and their children Joseph (age 18, born in MI), Jacob (age 16, born in MI), Caroline (age 12, born in MI), and Margaret (age 19, born in MI - not sure this is their child) and living in Michigan. 1860 Census: List as (Henry, age 45) and living in Wright Twp, Michigan. No family information listed. [3]
All of Catherine Host's surviving siblings departed Huron County, Ohio during the 1840s and relocated to Wright Twp., Ottawa County, Michigan. Her brother Henry Host in 1844 was possibly one of the first to settle in the wilderness of Wright Twp and was instrumental in establishing St. Joseph's Catholic church. These were not the only Seneca & Huron County residents relocating to Michigan. At about the same time several other Huron County familiar surname families from Ohio moved to Wright, Michigan. These included Omlor (Umlor), Zimmer, Ruffing, Braun (Brown), and others. [8]
