“HAZEL C. AXMAN ANDERSON -- Hazel Craft Axman, of 2802 Midway Road died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Hart County, Ga., she was a retired rural letter carrier with Anderson Post Office, retiring in 1984 with 25 years of service. She was a volunteer with AnMed Health Medical Center as a Pink Lady and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for several years and was social chairman of the "Saturday Morning" Breakfast Club. She was a longtime member of Midway Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the ladies Bible class, a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, a circle leader and had served as president of the Women of the Church. Surviving are daughter, Linda Axman Busby of Newberry; son, R. Lamar Axman of Midlothian, Va.; three grandchildren; and brothers, Roy Edwin Craft of Gastonia, N.C., and Maurice Lamar Craft Jr. of Lake Placid, Fla. She was the widow of Albert Lee Axman and the daughter of the late Maurice Lamar Craft Sr. and Flora Powell Craft. She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Craft. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Midway Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Mel Davis and Preston O. Sartelle. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
