HAZEL R. (BRITT) POISSANT, 84, of 19 Cynthia Drive, a homemaker, died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center, in Woonsocket.

She was the wife of the late Lionel Poissant. Born in Millville, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Lydia (Bertrand) Britt.

Mrs. Poissant was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, in Woonsocket.

She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Leclair Kozlik, Logan, Bassett Post 6342, in Forestdale.

She leaves five sisters, Florence L'Esperance of Oxbridge, Mass., Eileen Paige and Mary Sarlin, both of Millville, Barbara Littlefield of North Smithfield and Lorraine Eames of Winter Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was the mother of the late Richard Poissant, and a sister of the late Theresa Bartlett and John, Russell, William, Donald and David Britt.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Church, Second Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
