Esther Harriet and twin sister, Ellen Laura born in 1853 are the daughters of Ephraim Kelso and Mary E. Strickler. They are listed with Jonathan and Susanna [Lichty] Kelso in 1860 and 1870 census.

I have a copy of page 468 from the book A Brief History of John and Christrian Fretz and this lists: Mary Strickler d/o John and Barbara [Fretz] born Fayette Co., PA 1830 md. Alexander D. Provance. Carpenter. Children: Ellen, Hattie, Anna. Hattie Provance b. 27 Jan 1853. md. Rev Jesse L. Beal, of Waterloo, IA in 1889. Farmer and minister of the German Baptist Church. One child: Irwin J. K. Wright, b. 28 Mar 1875. Ellen md. Peter Liningood sic[Livingood] and Anna md. Herbert Rages. (I found Ellen and Peter in the 1880 and 1900 census but have not found Anna and Herbert). I have not located Esther Harriet married to a Wright in 1880 nor have I located her and son Irvin in a census. However, Irvin is listed in 1900 with Jesse and Harriet in IA. I located him and family in the 1910 Cedar Falls, IA census and again in 1920 and 1930 Tulsa, OK census. I have found the death records for both Harriet and Ellen in Someset Co., PA with parents names on them.

A note hand written in the Butterfield/Beal items I received from Glade Butterfield include the following: Mrs. Harriet -Jesse Beal died Jan 15, 1927 /Buried at Elklick, PA beside her twin sister.
