Harry Earl Gorne was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 31, 1919. He passed away on January 6, 2007.
Harry served in the U.S. Navy from 1938 to 1945, including a tour on the USS Phoenix. The Phoenix was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked, and Harry was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
Upon leaving the Navy, Harry traveled to Seattle and was a Boeing machinist for over 35 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife Betty, and was a resident of Brier for over 30 years.
He is survived by his sister, Alice; his brother, Leroy; and his two grandchildren, Violet, and Edward.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 14; funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, January 15. Both will be at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, Washington. 98133.
