                              On Police Force 20 Years is Dead
    Detective Harry M. Flood, who ended his 20 years of service in the Syracuse

police bureau when failing health forced him from active duty a month ago, died yesterday morning at his home, 190 Durston Ave.

    Born in Syracuse 45 years ago, Detective Flood was appointed patrolman on

May 1, 1915, and on December 16, 1925, he was promoted to the rank of detective by the late Carleton B. Shaw, then commissioner of public safety.

    A charter member of the old Hunters Club, he was an ardent sportsman. He

was regarded as one of the best shots in this section. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.

    Besides his membership in the Hunters Club, he was affiliated with the

Syracuse Police Benevolent Association.

     Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie Flood; a daughter, Miss Katherine Flood;

two brothers, Patrolman Edwrad Flood and Charles Flood, a fireman on the New York Central Railroad and two sisters, Mrs. George Logan and Mrs. Martin Schulbaum both of New York City.

    Service will be conducted in his home at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning

and at 9:30 o'clock in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Minoa.
