H Robert Bradner H Robert Bradner, 79, Fostoria, passed away peacefully in his home on Satu rday, Dec. 13, 2003, at 8:35 a.m. Bob had a thoracic aneurysm repaired, wh ich left him a paraplegic. Mr. Bradner was born on Nov. 12, 1924, in Tiffin to Harry R and Beatri ce M (Wonderly) Bradner. He married Helen C Heilman on May 29, 1948, in St. Wendelin Catholic Churc h. He was married to his wife for 55 years. Those who survive him are his wife of Fostoria; two daughters, Judith (Mic hael) Russell of Fostoria, and Laura (Chuck) Theis of Tiffin; two sons, Th omas Bradner of Fostoria, and Fred Bradner of Ames, Iowa; 15 grandchildre n; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers, James (Norma) Bradn er of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Wm (Marilyn) Bradner of Winter Springs, Fla., and D avid (Betty) Bradner of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and his stepmother, Hayd ee Bradner of Fostoria. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Bradner; a brother, Richard Bradne r; and his parents. Mr. Bradner retired in 1986 from Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative, N Balt imore, after 28 years. He was the director of public relations, servi ng as past president of OH Member Services, Assn., and as president of t he Wood CO Council of Cooperatives. He served in World War II as an Army Air Force sergeant in Italy, Austr ia and Ger. Later, he served as the Fostoria Safety Service Director f rom 1954 to 1957 under Mayor Ray Coburn. Mr. Bradner assisted photographer Pat Marchion for four years, and was a 1 0-year associate of Hoening Funeral Home. He was also a friendly voi ce on WFOB radio station, promoting Hancock-Wood Electric. He belonged to St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where he had be en a lay distributor, lector, head usher, and member of St. Wendelin’s fir st school board. Mr. Bradner was also a member of AARP, Catholic Golden Agers, the first S t. Wendelin Boy Scout Troop 50, American Legion Post #73, Knights of Colum bus Council #1197, and VFW Post #421. He was, in addition, a literary tutor and fast pitch softball catcher f or Knights of Columbus and Peggs Paints All Stars. He also played slow pitch softball and was the first baseman for Knigh ts of Columbus Old Timers. Mr. Bradner was a 1942 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, and later att ended John Carroll University, Cleveland. Visitation will occur on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, from 2 to 4 p.m. a nd 6 to 9 p.m. at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, where a Christian wa ke service will take place at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 200 3, at 1 p.m. in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a rosary will be pray ed at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, where United Vetera ns of Fostoria will conduct military honors.
