Newspaper notice copied from Harrison's Find-a-Grave memorial page: "Sudden Death - NEW PROVIDENCE, July 20 - Harrison Jackson, a farmer residing two miles Northeast of this place, died this morning at his home. Mr. Jackson was in good health and came to town Friday morning. He is a man who is addicted to strong drink and became intoxicated while up here and remained all night in front of the Union church on last Friday night. When his son removed him home Saturday morning, as he was in the habit of laying out during this state of affairs it was only thought that this was one of his usual sprees. After he arrived at home he gradually grew worse, until this morning when he died. Mr. Jackson, when sober, was one of our best citizens and treated all with respect and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and a large family. Mr. Jackson was in quite good circumstances." Obituary: Nation Democrat, Jeffersonville, Indiana, 25 Jul 1890, page 2, column 2.
