Graduated from the Pillsbury Conservatory of Music in Owatonna, Minnesota, in 1895 and studied piano with William Mason, singing with Mme. La Grange (Paris), composition with Sigismond Stojowski (Paris), and Hugo Kaun (Berlin). Performed professionally as a composer & pianist throughout the U.S., including at Carnegie Hall in 1913. Moved to New York after her husband's death.
