He was the husband of Mary L. (Hoot) Schwager for more than 22 years.Born in Sumneytown, he was a son of the late Daniel E. and Elizabeth (Engle) Schwager.Mr. Schwager was employed as an ironworker for the Leonard Kunkin Associates Steel Fabricators in Hilltown Township for 18 years until his retirement in 1992. recently, Mr. Schwager worked part time for A&T Chevrolet, Sellersville, and Whitney's Restaurant, Hilltown Township.Mr. Schwager was a member of St. Peter's (Tohickon) United Church of Christ, Weisel. He served on the Cemetery Board for the Tohickon Union Cemetery, Weisel.He was a former member and assistant scout commissioner of the Bucks County Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Tohpendel District. He was a member of the Camp Master Corp., the Wood Badge, and the Order of Arrow.Mr. Schwager was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Sellersville, and the National Shopmen Iron Workers Union.In addition to his widow he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly, wife of Joseph Samuel of West Chester; a step-daughter, Karen Pettebone of Quakertown; a step-son, Todd Pettebone of East Rockhill Township; three grandchildren; and two sisters: Leona Devlin of Villas, NJ, and Shirley Schwager of Green Lane.Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, Perkasie. Interment was in Kellers Church Cemetery, Kellers Church.Memorial contributions may b made in his name to the Bucks County Council of the Boy Scouts of American [sic], 1 Scout Way, Doylestown, 18901.
