Harold Jackson Farmer, 81, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. He was born May 24, 1929, in Gauley Bridge, W.Va., to the Rev. Garah Hugh and Perie (Jackson) Farmer. On May 25, 1948, he married Mary E. Dalton, who passed away, then later married Dorothy Downs on Dec. 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Coeur d'Alene; brother, the Rev. Samuel A. (Mary) Farmer of Wheeling, W.Va.; sons, David H. (Sharon) Farmer of Coeur d'Alene and Aaron Scott (Wendy) Farmer of Eustis, Neb.; and daughter, Terry Carol (Frank) Schell of Broomfield, Colo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E.; sister, Vivian Marie; and brothers, Chester and James H. Farmer. "Hal" was a much loved husband and father but known to many others as an honors student; Air Force sergeant; railroad engineer; reservation missionary; minister; Special Education teacher, including several years at private and public schools in Kingman; test track driver; as well as an artist and musician.

But Hal's stated greatest joy in life was starting prayer and Bible study groups, and watching them grow. Hal loved to lead people to faith in Christ.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Service, 3020 Federal Blvd., Denver. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, also at Horan and McConaty.   Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Fort Logan National Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene, 500 Aqua Dr., Coeur d'Alene.
