hans started school in approx 1895 which was approx 4 miles from home. On 12/4/1897 the Miki Miki school opened. Hans left school in form 2 in 1902 to work on the home farm. In 1904 Hans went to Australia to get Elsie Jensen ages 7 years for her to live with them for a number of years before returning to her father in Australia. Elsie's parents were Anton Jensen & Ane Kjerstine Hansen. Elsie later married Harry Nielsen of Queensland.
