HANNAH WILLIAMS, b. say 1647; m. (1) Eastham 24 May 1667 John Smith [MD 4:33], son of RALPH SMITH {1633, Charlestown} [GMB 3:1697-99]; m. (2) after 8 March 1678/9 Thomas Mulford of Eastham. (In 1964 Rachel E. Barclay sorted out the wives of Thomas Mulford and in the process demonstrated that all the children of Hannah (Williams) (Smith) Mulford were with her first husband [TAG 40:193-98]. Hannah’s date of marriage to John Smith is given in some sources as 24 May 1670; this date derives from the colony copy of some Eastham vital records, which made an error in this instance [PCR 8:57; MD 19:111].)
