William Clark m. 25 Jul 1802 Hannah (Gleason) Reed, widow of Abel Reed, d/o Micajah Gleason and Hannah Drury. She d. 26 Aug 1817, ae. 50.
[Note: the marriage record only identifies his wife as Hannah Reed. This source has mistakenly paired William with his step-mother's sister rather than his step-mother's daughter (his step-sister), i.e., it has him marrying a woman a generation older. This error is also found in Gleason Genealogy, p. 99, 175. This is disproved by the probate record cited, showing it was the daughter. According to Reed Genealogy, p. 280, Abel and Hannah (Gleason) Reed moved to Rutland. Although neither the Reed Genealogy, nor the Rutland VRs, have a death record, his son was still called Abel Jr. in 1837, but was no longer Jr. in 1845, suggesting Abel did not died until that window 1837-1845. The age at death of William's wife Hannah is not contained in the Princeton death record, but appears to be added by the author based on his mistaken identification. Instead the Princeton death record includes the birth date of 1787 belonging to the daughter, not the 1767 belonging to the sister.]
