!From "Report on Genealogical Research Efforts of Leigh and Sadie Clark in New England October 1967": "We have a record of Hannah Noble's marriage to Deacon Daniel Kellogg in 1731. Hannah was the daughter of Matthew Noble and granddaughter ofThomas. There is a story about her, that when she was 16 her father left Westfield and spent the winter in what was later Sheffield, probably living with the Indians. In the spring, she decided to go to him, and packing her belongings on theback of her horse, including her bed, she set out alone, in that very dangerous territory. She spent two nights alone in the wild country, but she found her father, and aftwerwards married the Deacon."
