Secondary sources list her age at death as either 33 or 34. This would make the year of her birth either 1735 or 1736. Records of only two Hannah Lewis born in Connecticut at approximately this time have been discovered. One, the daughter of Ebenezer Lewis of Wallingford was born in 1734. However, she was immediately taken by her parents to Litchfield County, and so was unlikely to have met thomas Brooks, who was pursuing studies in New Haven. The other, the daughter of Col. Edmund Lewis, was from Stratford and was born in 1738. Of these two, the latter seems the most likely candidate because the Annals indicate that the wife of Thomas Brooks was from Stratford.
