In Whitestown, on the 23d ult after an illness of 4 days, Mrs. Hannah, wife of Reuben Wilcox, aged 76 years and 1 day. Mrs. Wilcox early professed religion, and for many years has been a worthy member of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist church in Brookfield. She was a woman of a strong mind, a retentive memory, and a general knowledge of the Scriptures - an able advocate of the Sabbath - was deeply interested in the cause of God, and active in promoting the benevolent institutions of the day.
In her death, her husband has lost a faithful companion and counselor (with whom she had lived more than fifty-one years) her children a tender and affectionate mother, and a numerous train of grandchildren, who will never forget her good counsels and deep anxiety for their present and future welfare, and the church have lost a spiritual mother in Israel. But she is gone to that rest which remains for the people of God.
