Hannah Jane Hughes was born on June 2, 1831 in Harrison County (The area later became Doddridge County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Martin L. Hughes and Anna (Davis) Hughes.

Hezekiah Davis Sutton (22) and Hannah Jane Hughes (20) were married on March 10, 1853 in Doddridge County, Virginia by Ezekiel Bee, Minister, Seventh Day Baptist Church.

Death

Hannah Jane (Hughes) Sutton passed away on July 29, 1910 in Wilsonburg, Harrison County, West Virginia of senility at the age of 79. She was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berea, Ritchie County, West Virginia.
