Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, Orange County, Ny Note: Notes provided by Chris Barry: From the Newburgh Daily Journal, Friday evening, 12 July 1889, Pg. 1, under "Deaths": "Hammond - In this city, July 11, 1889, of dropsy, Hannah A., widow of William Hammond, late of Montgomery, N. Y."Funeral private, at the residence of her son-in-law, W.H. Van Steenburgh, 2 High st. Interment at Montgomery, N.Y." Hannah Hammond's will dated 18 March 1889, names her daughter Mary Jane executrix, and includes the following: "Whereas on the 1st day of May AD 1882, I did give to my said daughter then Mary Morris the sum of $300 upon the understanding that I was to have my home with her during my life and she was to pay me the annual interest thereon at the rate of 5% while I live and whereas I have had my home with my said daughter and received said interest regularly and promptly now I do hereby ratify said gift and said sum of three hundred dollars to my said daughter Mary Morris now Mary J. Van Steenburgh and hereby relieve and discharge her from all liability in accountability therefore to me and my estate." Hannah left her son John W.
