The last will and testament of Hannah Groff late of the town of Brunswick in the County of Rensselaer deceased with the proof thereof as a ... .. real and personal estate recorded April 4th 1874.

Will

I Hannah Groff of the town of Brunswick in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York of the age of seventy one years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say,

First I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

Second I give devise and bequeath to my daughter H. Maria Derrick wife of Edgar C. Derrick of Brunswick .. .. the sum of five hundred dollars the sum to be paid to her out of a house and lot I now own in Minneapolis in the state of Minnesota the same to be paid to her within one year after the death of my son William H. Groff who now lives on the same, and who has a life lease of the same and I hereby make the payment of said legacy a charge upon said house and lot.

Third I give devise and bequeath my said house and lot subject to the life lease estate of my said son and to the payment of the legacy of $500.00 to my said daughter to my son Mathew Groff of St Paul Minnesota to my grand children Milford H Eddy and Carry B Eddy children of Elisha W Eddy of Minneapolis Minnesota, and to Charles Groff son of William H. Groff the same to be divided between said four above named equally, share and share alike. And in case neither Matthew Groff or his son Charles R Groff be living at the death of William H Groff, then the share above ...... to Matthew I order and direct that the same be divided equally between my said three grand children Milford H. Eddy, Carrie B Eddy and Charles Groff share and share alike.

Fourth I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter, H Maria Derrick all the rest residue and remainder of my property both real and personal of every name and nature any wheresoever situated the same desired to her and her heirs and assigns forever.

Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter H. Maria Derrick to be the executrix and my said grand son Milford H. Eddy to be the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

Witness my hand and seal this 19th day of July in the year 1873. Hannah Groff L.S.

The above instrument consisting of one half that two pages and at the date thereof signed sealed published and declared by the said Hannah Groff and for her last will and testament in presence of us who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Edgar C Derrick Brunswick Rensselaer County, N.Y. Irving Hayner Brunswick Rensselaer C. N.Y.

Edgar C Derrick of Brunswick and Irving Hayner of the city of ... in the County of Rensselaer being duly sworn in open court doth depose and say ... each for himself says that he is a subscribing witness to the last will and testament of Hannah Groff late of the town of Brunswick in the County of Rensselaer and that the said Hannah Groff did in the presence of these deputies subscribe her name at the end of the instrument, which is now shown and exhibited to these depou... and which purports to be the last will and testament of the said Hannah Groff and which bears date on the 19th day of July 1873 and that the said Hannah Groff did at the time of subscribing her name aforesaid declare the said instrument to be her last will and testament and these dep.... did thereon subscribe their names at the end of the said instrument as attesting witnesses thereto at the request of the said testatories his presence and in the presence of each other, did at the time when the said extatrix in her presence and in the presense of each other subscribing her name as of.... she was of .... mind and memory of full age to execute a will and was not under any .... but competent in all respects to devise real estate.
