Gretchen Adeline "Babe" Moses, daughter of Rudolph F. and Emma C. (Mielke) Levenhagen, was born March 28, 1915, in Fairview Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She received her education in the country schools.

Babe was united in marriage to Leo G. Moses on April 22, 1941, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona. She was a homemaker and was employed by English Drug Store and St. Patrick's Lunch Program. Babe enjoyed collecting recipes, hunting mushrooms, flowers and her dog, Tippy.

Babe died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo, who died October 12, 1963; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Deanna, and her husband, Ronald Asleson of Dubuque, Iowa; one son, Richard Moses of Monona, Iowa; one sister, Grace Topel of Monona, Iowa; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gretchen A. Moses,82, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., after a lingering illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, where there will be a rosary at 4 and Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Asleson of Dubuque; a son, Richard, and a sister, Grace Topel, both of Monona.
