    The birth year 1879 appears to be incorrect, based on both the 1900 census and his death record. Since his brother Joseph's death record says he was born about 1879/1880, the 1881 (or even 1882) birth year seems more likely. I cannot find the family in the 1880 census to confirm which brother was born before 1880.
