<Work in progress> It is not known when Grace traveled from England to Australia. Family oral history has that she and future husband Edward Wright, when it was known that their intention to wed was frowned upon by her family, sailed separately to Australia. She apparently stayed with family until Edward arrived, and before their marriage in 1867 their first son Edward James Thomas Wright was born in 1865. His birth was not registered until April 1867, so it is assumed that perhaps she was pregnant prior to leaving England, and was unable to wed Edward Wright until he may have arrived in 1867.

Grace had family in Australia. A list of known relatives who were at any time in Australia are:

• Mother's cousin Elizabeth Osborn nee Bolitho (1st cousin 1x removed). Elizabeth was in England in the 1861 census but dies in Australia in 1885. She travelled to Melbourne, Australia in 1866 with her son Matthew and his wife on the ship "White Star". They are recorded as Irish immigrants.
• Uncle Richard Mann Eddy, who dies in Australia in 1854 but his wife and children remain there.
