   Gordon E. Tinnin, 70, died Dec. 22, 2000, at his Poulsbo residence.
   He was born June 18, 1930, in Compton, Calif., to Asa and Babbitt (Hinkler) Tinnin. He was a 1948 graduate of Browns Military Academy at Avenal High, in Avenal, Calif.
   He married Elaine Marshall on Dec. 25, 1949, in Avenal.
   He served in the Coast Guard, achieving the rank of engineman 1st class.
   He was a master mechanic for operating engineers at Bangor Submarine Base for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
   He was a member of the Warren G. Harding Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed flying airplanes.
   Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kelly of Poulsbo and Gordon II of Alaska; a daughter, Lucinda Tinnin of Poulsbo; a sister, Betty Jean Anderson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Von Behren; and a sister, Laura E. Wise.
   A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren G. Harding Lodge 260, Third and Hostmark, Poulsbo. Cremation will take place at Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
