Bob Neuhardofficiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.Mrs. Layton died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 1999 at her daughter'sresidence in Cygnet. She was born Nov. 24, 1922 in Fulton County toGeorge and Alice (Ruehle) Punches. She married Harold "Shorty" Heller onOct. 22, 1938, and he died Jan. 17, 1968. She then married Jessie T.Layton on June 6, 1970, and he died June 20, 1989. Surviving are foursons, Richard Heller Sr., Hoytville; Jack Heller, Dudley Heller, both ofPhoenix, Ariz.; Les Heller, McComb; four daughters, Carol Carles,Findlay; Nancy Vestal, Goose Creek, S.C.; Janet Tussinger, Deshler; MarySapp, Cygnet; 32 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother,Kenneth Punches, Morenci, Mich.; and a sister, Hazel Kresse, Addison,Mich. Mrs. Layton was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Heller Sr.; twograndchildren; and three sisters, Ila Reckner, Joy Turner and GeorgettePunches. She was a homemaker. She was a member of American LegionAuxiliary 539 and the Eagles Lodge, both in North Baltimore. Memorialsmay be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 960 W. Wooster St.,Bowling Green 43402."
