G. Delmer Vaughn, age 83, of Morristown, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Heritage Center. He was a member of Spruce Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army during Korean Conflict, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was owner of Vaughn Realty and Auction Company for over 30 years and built over 130 homes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny Vaughn; parents, Harvey and Mary Vaughn; brothers, Miller Lee "Jack" Vaughn, Sam Vaughn, Herbert Vaughn, Sterling Vaughn, and Cline Vaughn; and sister, Jane Hipshire. He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Vaughn; brother Lon (Wanda) Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Sallie Vaughn, Pauline Vaughn, and Doris Vaughn; brother-in-law, Danny Laughner; nephew, Glenn (Jody) Vaughn; nieces, Orpha Harrell, Wanda Vaughn, Linda Vaughn, Barbara Cranford, Kathy Mills, and Doris Ann Holbert; special great nephews, Wes and Brad Vaughn; and several other great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Ramaprasad, Dr. Johnson, and the staff of Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, Terrace Estates, and Heritage Center. Funeral services will be at 3 pm Sunday, January 26 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Epps officiating. Interment will follow in Adriel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Odell Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Sunday, prior to the services at the funeral home. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
