In Hopkinton, R. I., December 4, 1861, of typhoid fever, G. Hamilton Coon, son of Thomas Coon, of Brookfield, N. Y., aged 26 years. The deceased was a member of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Hopkinton. His illness, though not apparently alarming until within a few hours of his end, resulted in the sudden termination of his sojourn on earth. By this providence, his wife is deprived of her only earthly dependence, and a promising little child written fatherless; who, together with a large circle of relatives and friends, are submerged in the deep waters of affliction and sorrow. And who, especially the bereft widow and little one, we commend to the sympathies and prayers of the good, and to the following and kindred promises of the Heavenly Father, "I will be the widow's God, and a father to the fatherless."
