Mrs. Gertrude Marie Ryer, of 164 Meadow St., died in Litchfield County Hospital Monday afternoon after a long illness. She was the widow of Byron Ryer.

She was born in Monterey Mass, daughter of Charles and Mary Dawson Worden.

Mrs. Ryer was a former resident of Newark, N.J. and lived in Winsted five years.

She leaves two sons, Walter Ryer of Cromwell and George Ryer of Winsted; two brothers Herbert Worden and Charles Worden, both of Winsted.; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Mather of Warehouse Point and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the John J. Shea Funeral Home, 99 Wheeler St., the Rev Jay Gould Sea- officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.
