↑ Mrs. Gertrude Botts, age 99, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of Morganton, Georgia, passes away Saturday, January 18, 2003 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Botts was a native of Union County, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Alonzo Turner and Mary Ann Mull Turner. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Botts was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, and was a charter member and Past Matron of Notla Chapter #471, of The Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Botts had been preceded in death by her husband, the late Everett Botts.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev. Lois Waters officiating. Special music was presented by Harmony Grove Church Choir. Members of The Order of the Eastern Star conducted funeral rites. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Gary Butler, Gary Hogsed, Jonathan Butler, Dewey Beaver, Roger Beaver, Roy Beaver, and Charles Voyles. Interment was in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
