PEORIA HEIGHTS - Gertrude M. Siewert, 94, of OSF St. Clare Home for the past six years died there at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005. Born April 21, 1910, in Peoria to John and Gertrude Zeitz Mayer, she married Herbert F. Siewert on June 12, 1935, in Peoria. He died June 11, 1967, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one sister. Surviving are two sons, John (and Sheila) of West Peoria and Robert (and Mary) of Winneconne, Wis.; one daughter, Marian (and Thomas) Persich of West Peoria; two sisters, Mary (and Victor) Barber of North Port, Fla., and Viola Siewert of West Peoria; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she served in several functions, including church secretary from 1958 to 1975. There will be a private memorial service. She donated her body to Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to her church.
