HER BELOVED BROTHER: James Elmo Johnson

Born to James Harvey Johnson and Fannie Leora Littlepage, Inez was the eldest of two children. Unfortunately, her little brother Elmo lived only a few short years. Even in her 80's she couldn't speakof him without tearing up. She loved her family history and even wrote a short book about her life growing up and her marriage and family. She could have only one child, Gerald. And believe me he hung the moon as far as she could tell. She was a dutiful mother and an obediant wife. Everything a girl of that era was expected to be. She was a devout Methodist and was a member of the Owenwood UnitedMethodist Church for over 40 years. She attended church most every Sunday until her death in 1992.

She remained pretty healthy and active until the last week of her life. And after a series of small episodes, told her daughter-in-law how she wanted to be buried. It's funny how they always know itsthe end. Even when everything seems fine, they know it's coming and they want to be prepared.

Granny was a great historian of family history and a proud southern woman. A beloved mother and grandmother of five grandchildren.
