"Gershom⁴ Bunnell (Benjamin³, Benjamin², William¹) was born 1 May 1707 'at Elizabethtown in east Jersey', according to the birth records of New Haven, CT. … No other record with respect to Gershom Bunnell has been found until his marriage … Gershom died at Danbury 8 July 1758. The Danbury probate records indicate that he died insolvent. An inventory of his estate is dated 18 December 1758. His widow Margaret was appointed guardian of their two youngest children, John and Job, who were not yet of an age to select their own guardians."
