Geraldine Alice McQuiston was born June 3, 1926, to Mark Edwin and Lottie Mae Staples McQuiston in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. She was the fifth child of five children: Earl D., Ethel Winifred, Clare, Erma, and Geraldine Alice. She married Earl Gongaware November 19, 1947. They were the parents of four children: Edwin Earl, Lou Ann, Alice Mae, and Merle. Geraldine died December 29, 2004, in Utah, and is buried in Redwood Memorial Estates in West Jordan, Utah.
