Benzie Record Patriot ; 2003 - Obituary (Geraldine Mary Gilbert Tanner Yanik) April 1, Geraldine Mary Gilbert Tanner Yanik passed away March 28, at her home in Grand Rapids with her children around her. Mary was born in rcadia to Earl and Edna Gilbert. She was preceded in deat by her parents; four brothers; Lyle, Neil, Wayne and Dale; Her husband Duane; a son Paul; and a step son Duane Jr. She is survived by one brother, Keith of Gladwin; a sister Shirley (George) Felt of Frankfort. her children Donna (Jeff) Somers of Davidson, Billie (Ron) Samson of Grand Rapids, Scott (Carol) Tanner of Grand Rapids, Carol (Steven) Apps of Newago, Roy Tanner of Grand Rapids, Jim (Jennie) Tanner of Grand Rapids; 22 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held for Mary, April 5, at her church, God's Storehouse and Ministiers, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Rod Gee Officiating.

She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; son, Paul; stepson, Duane Jr. Survived by one brother; one sister; her children, Donna (Jeff) Somers, Billie (Ron) Sampson, Carol (Steven) Apps, Roy Tanner, Jim (Jennie) Tanner; Scott (Carol) Tanner; stepdaughters, Beverly, Laura; special grandchildren, Marvin, Lonijoy, Rick; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; adopted grandchildren; great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law. Cremations has taken place and there will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 5 at God's Storehouse and Ministries, 643 9th St., Grand Rapids at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rod Gee officiating.
