Geraldine Estella “Gerry” Silverwood, 81, of North Baltimore and formerly of Bradner, died on Friday, Aug. 19 2005 at the Blakely Care Center in North Baltimore. She was born on June 23, 1934 in Gibsonburg to the late Clark J. and Ida L. (Fredericksen) Garn. She married Cloyce O. Silverwood on Jan. 5, 1943 in Bradner. He passed away on March 11, 1989. Those who survive her include three sons, Kenneth Silverwood of Bradner, Glendale Silverwood of Bowling Green, and Royce Silverwood of Arcadia; one daughter, Carol Bateson of North Baltimore; one sister, Ruth E. Underhill of Gibsonburg; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace C. Garn and Robert L. Garn; two sisters Marie S. Borton and Helen L. Garn; and one granddaughter, Shanon Corei Marks. Mrs. Silverwood was a homemaker and a 1942 graduate of Bradner High School. She was also a member of the Wayne-Bradner Pollyanna Club. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at the Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne from 12 - 2 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Zedda Myers officiating. Burial followed in Bradner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Blakely Care Center Activities Department in North Baltimore. |
