According to Vivian Villiger Meyer, Aunt Georgia always made everyone beautiful hats, but she and Uncle Ben lost their livelihoods in the depression since no one had money to spend on luxuries. They lived on their savings, but would work at Grandpa's store and Grandma always made sure they went home with lots of groceries. Vivian thought Aunt Georgia must have been married to a Bill Walker before she married Ben Kidd. She got this impression because of an incident that occured when she was in high school. She mentioned a classmate, Bill Walker, to her aunt, who asked her many questions about the boy’s parents. This story was confirmed by Illinois marriage records and the 1910 census. 1900 Living with her parents 1910 US Census, 213 10th St, Shawnee City, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, Enumeration District 221, sheet 17A, household 280, 30 APril 1910 William Walker, head, male, white, 28, married once, born in Illinois, father born in Indiana, mother born in Tennessee, speaks English, boilermaker for the railroad, can read and write, rents house Georgia, wife, female, white, 25, married once for 7 years, bore no children, born in Illinois, born in Illinois, mother born in Wisconsin, speaks English, hat maker in millinery shop, can read and write 1917 Marriage License -Kidd and Walker State of Missouri, County of Cole, Benjamin E.
