Daily Times-News, The Saturday, August 14, 1971 MR. AND Mrs.. GEORGE HENRY WOOD Woods Are Shown Courtesy On Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs.. George Henry Wood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at their home on Wood's Road, Graham, last Sunday. Hosts were their children, Mr. and Mrs.. William E. Coble, Mr. and Mrs.. T. C. Wood. Colon A. Terrell Sr. of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs.. Marvin Montgomery o f Placentia, Calif., and a foster son James C. Loy of ?. Guests were greeted at the front door by Mr. and Mrs.. T. C. Wood and Colon Terrell Sr. and directed to the register where Mr. and Mrs.. Colon Terrell Jr.. presided. Mr. and Mrs.. William E. Coble presented guests to the receiving line composed of the honored couple, Mrs.. COY THOMPSON, sister of Mr. Wood, who was a member of the wedding party, and Mrs.. Jerome Lindley, standing in for the only other attendant, her late father, V T. Wood. Mrs.. Wood wore a navy dress with a gold locket, an- niversary gift from her husband.The dining room table was covered with a hand drawn tablecloth of altar linen and centered with a candelabrum and an epergne arrangement of golden roses, candles and lace streamers. Fruit punch was served by Mrs.. Charles Sharpe, sister of Mrs.. Wood. She was as- sisted by Mrs.. Ervin Waynick, and the anniversary cake was served by Mrs.. Jamie Loy. Completing the party fare were ham biscuits, cheese wafers, marzapan fruit, mints and lady fingers. Kathey Terrell and Holt Montgomery, granddaughters of the honored couple, assisted in serving, along with Mrs.. Holt Henderson, Mrs.. Robert Loy and Mrs. Bonnie Isley. In the gift room were Mr. and Mrs.. Drew Coble, Mr. and Mrs. Tony and Larry Wood of Tampa, Fla., grand- children of the couple, and Mrs. Fred Waynick, niece of Mrs. Wood. Goodbyes were said by Mr. and Mrs.. Marvin Montgomery and Jamie Loy Approximately 300 guests called during the afternoon. The home was decorated throughout with arrangements of roses, golden mums and daisies. Out ot town guests were from Raleigh, Greensboro, Robbms, Badin, Atlanta, Ga., Yorktown, Va., Hillsville, Va., Florida and California. References
